Journey to Colorado

Hello from Colorado!

This post is a bit late but it’s only because we’ve been enjoying everything the area has to offer. Colorado has been on the top of our list since the beginning of this journey, so we’re making sure no time goes to waste. We’ve already had the opportunity to visit three national parks and explore iconic towns - like Durango and Telluride. Summer in Colorado is a special experience and we’re excited to see as much as we can.

On our way here from Arizona, we spent about a week wandering through New Mexico. We made a handful of stops but Santa Fe was by far our favorite. The town had great food, beautiful architecture and so much culture. We spent our time there walking around wishing we had booked more than one night.

Before making our way to Colorado, we made sure to visit the White Sands National Park - one of the most dog friendly parks we’ve been to! Beau was able to run across the dunes with us, which made our experience there much more enjoyable. It was a sunny and hot day, so we didn’t spend too much time here but we’re happy we got to feel the sand in between our toes.

We still have about 4 months left in this beautiful state and have much more we want to explore. July is considered to be the start of the hiking season here (trails are clear of snow and wildflowers are blooming), so we plan on taking full advantage of this month by spending our weekends hiking the surrounding mountains. Beau has become quite the hiker, so he’ll be joining us on these adventures as well.

Until next time,

- Jake, Eli + Beau
